The need for improved Emergency Services has been acknowledged for some time which are currently being provided from the original department in the Queens Building with additional area in the Terrell Street Ward Block (TSB). This situation has been exacerbated by the covid pandemic. UHBW along with other major hospitals around the country have been tasked to provide a more efficient patient flow through the ED into appropriate areas of care and to respond to the need for social distancing and other requirements of providing care during a pandemic.
